some socio philosophical gastronomical sarcasm and humour for you :-l

She said: hey, did you know that Mumbai has this new thing - if you want to eat authentic cuisine food, now no more searches and worries, there are families who offer you their culture's home cooked food- you need to pre book though obviously. It can't get more authentic than this!
He said: really?!  (Then after a few spoonfuls of some lame chicken biryani at cafe gulshan's in matunga..) So now even this is commercialised?- no need to make friends
She said: (nothing. Only !)
He said: hehe

IPTL and Indian sensibility

Why are Indians suffering from idiocy, stupidity, low self esteem, low IQ, inferiority complex...? What else can explain the idea of having a non tennis celebrity share the stage with two sports figures of the field? India runs on PR and mediocrity fame; what is going to happen to Indian talent and once that is not revered, then are we only going to be like today's Facebook youth, hollow on the nurturing of talent inside, compared to the self proclaimed stardom and pseudo celeb behaviour aka zero substance???
Shame on us for condoning, liking and encouraging this. Poor Federer.

The tiny food heaven in a beautiful haven

Ganesh @Matheran (hill station near Mumbai)

Prepare to be amazed. Its a small looking stall, perhaps to ward off unwanted loud rich-ish wannabe crowds?. Good for us (visited in 2013). It looked like a small maggi and tea stall.. but to say the least, that's the most deceptive place we've been to together: The food is delicious, everything from authentic poha to pancakes to spanish omelettes to awesome lunches: non-veg/ veg.. think yummy malvani chicken! It's a bit of a walk into matheran, near Usha Ascot. Dont miss out this small spot of heaven that understands good food and service (reasonably priced) or the homemade chocolates if you're going in December: every food item beats all the so-called "good hotels' food, price tags and service- all in plastic chairs near the red pathways.

Important tip: Remember to pre-order your food, it's a small family run place (albeit smart and knowledgeable in terms of cooking different cuisines), they'll need a few hours to get everything in order- everything that is totally worth it!

He says: Amazing breakfast, lunch, dinner and moreso, the couple who runs the place so well.
She says: The only place in entire matheran that saved my horribly choosey taste buds. Great family feel too.

An update: these guys outdid themselves in our 2014 visit :) . He adds: ask for mutton dishes for the most memorable meals in your life.
